Innovations

Inclusive design toolkit - BT and i~design, United Kingdom
We live in an increasingly complex and technologically rich world, and can all cite examples of products that are difficult or frustrating to use. By applying inclusive design principles, involving users in the design, and considering the needs of people with reduced capabilities, products can be made usable, useful and desirable.

BioMOBIUS™ Research Platform.
The BioMOBIUS Research Platform is a combination of hardware, sensors, software, services and a graphical development environment. This platform helps researchers to reduce the time spent on developing foundational technologies, allowing them to focus on their actual research. Ultimately the platform will enable therapists, clinicians and engineers to rapidly develop and deploy technology solutions for biomedical research.

IFA's 9th Global conference - Montreal. 4 -8 September 2008

Three themes will be explored during the four-day Conference in Montréal: Health, Participation and Security. The important inclusion for this conference is that of Design, with the programme examining the impact and relationship of design against these three themes. Design is a major component that must be given greater relevance towards improving the quality of life of our older citizens.
